My corporate I6 is on its last legs. I now have the option of a 32gb i7 or a 32gb S8.

Any opinions?

I’ve used both. I’d say stick with the iPhone.

I’d say I7, all my friends love it with exception of the missing headphone jack but they’ve adapted

Go for the i7. Bluetooth headphones can be had with decent quality for under $100 if you’re really worried about that.

I have a Note 8, basically the S8 with a stylus and a little more power. It’s fantastic if you know what you’re doing since it’s just insanely customizable, which I love. I’m really disappointed with the camera, though (nothing wrong with the fantastic optics but the 12MP resolution just looks like crap anywhere but on the phone screen).

I switched companies and turned in my i7 the new company gave me an S7. I don’t mind android but holy shit samsung phones are terrible. so terrible i plunked down $800 for an I8 for my personal phone to replace an old android phone.

As an Android user by choice, stick with what makes you happy.

If that’s Apple’s iPhones,....

Besides, it your WORK phone.

Up to now, we haven’t had a choice. My family switched to Android phones over the last year and seem pretty happy. I’m fairly invested in the Apple ecosystem, but that’s because I have a lot of work-related apps. My work phone is my only phone. Well, that’s not completely true. I do keep an older i6 around for music and audio books. It hasn’t been activated, so it’s wireless-only.

The biggest advantage I see with the Android phone is the ability to expand the storage space with an SD card. I have to take a lot of photos/videos for work.

If your work phone is your main phone, get whatever you’ll like the most. My work phone is *only* for work and a supplement to my personal phone because of security policies at work, so I take what they give me, which is an iPhone 6S.

Corporate gives me all the options as long as it’s an i7 or S8. Basically, we tell them which ecosystem we want and they send us a phone.

Doesn’t Apple offer cloud storage similar to Google Drive and Photos?

at a cost. The free bit fills up when you turn the product on I think.

They do, but it’s 1/3 the capacity of the phone without payment. Part of the problem is the dang updates. Corp policy forces it to auto update, which it won’t do unless there’s enough space on the phone. Thing is, it automatically downloads as much of the update as it can even if it can’t update right away, filling up all the available memory.

Also, all of the online storage services shrink your photos for you automatically.

Ouch. Well there is always 3rd party cloud storage. I have a Box account that I’ve had forever that came with a free upgrade to 50gb because of a Sprint promo at the time. An online search for a discount code may get you something usable.

That’s a good idea. I already have a couple of Dropbox accounts. I can probably figure out a way to free up some space.

Still doesn’t fix my i7/S8 conundrum!

It looks like most of the feedback so far is anti-S8.

For what it’s worth, I have a S7 Edge as a work phone. My only true complaint is the center button on the face of the phone. Doesn’t register my thumbprint half the time and is slow to respond to inputs. So naturally if I had the choice, I would get an S8.
